Niclas von Planta began working as a clerk in a law firm and the district court of Basel, Switzerland, in 2001. After passing the bar exam in 2003 he relocated to Zurich to work for the law firm Rosenow Grob Schilling, where he played a major role in building up the aviation department.

In 2005/2006 Niclas studied at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, where he obtained a Master of Law at the Institute of Air and Space. He also lectured on aircraft finance and wrote a master thesis on the implications of the Cape Town Convention on aircraft finance.

He then returned to Rosenow Grob Schilling which later merged to become Blum&Grob Attorneys at law, one of Switzerland’s leading Aviation law firms. Niclas advised a large range of international clients in matters mainly relating to operational and ownership structures of aircraft as well as aircraft finance. He published articles on aviation finance, enforcement proceedings and operational matters.

In 2011, ExecuJet Aviation Group invited Niclas to join as the Group and European Director Legal Services and Member of the Group and European Management Committee. In June 2015 Niclas was appointed as Vice President Europe.

Niclas holds a Master of Law from the University of Basel, Switzerland as well as a Master of Law of the Institute of Air and Space Law of McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and is licensed to practice law as an attorney in Switzerland.
